I have a set of functions making up a “MODEL” in python and i intend to do some UQ-Lab based analysis. Has any one ever tried to connect python input-output with UQ-LAB. The concept remains crudely the same as UQLink.

As you say, one way is to use UQLink (Examples, User Manual) to connect your model to UQLab.
Another way could be to use UQ[py]Lab (website).
